To All Those Who Hinder My Voice As A Writer

“When people attempt to hinder your wishes to share your experiences or your craft with the world, it can be rather disturbing. It is in those moments I realize I am doing something right.”

It has come to my attention that there are some people out there who do not agree with what I decide to write about, or where I decide to share my ideas. To all of you, I say welcome. I will begin by saying that I need not justify why I write about my experiences, for it helps me, as well as I hope that it may help someone else out there.

Growing up in this environment, I’ve learned a lot about the ways in which the people in my society judge others. They do not take the time to look at those closest to them, no, they have to have a dastardly opinion about everyone else. I am a writer. I allow myself to write about the things that hurt, the things that I’ve been through, the feelings in which I may have.

There will always be someone there to tell you that you are messing up, or wait patiently for you to fall. Though, if there is one thing I do not need, is someone trying to use my words to hurt those closest to me. I’ve been through quite a lot in the short time I’ve been alive, and I will continue to write about the things that give me a certain peace of mind.

My passion goes hand in hand with how true I am to myself. My experiences are real, and I know that there will always be people out there who cannot appreciate that. So, for that I am writing to you. Thank you, for trying to bring me down, for it can only allow me to build myself back up again. For those of you who feel this and understand this, I want you to know that you are not alone. We are not alone.

Love, Anisa Nasir (3)
